- ATSC 3.0 is designed to cover the integrated mobile broadcasting/broadband services along with fixed 4K UHDTV broadcasting services. In the mobile environment, users tend to want to consume the same content without a cessation regardless of network connection state. To satisfy users' requirement, service handoff is needed in the shadow area of the broadcasting signal. In the event of service handoff, the time for service handoff might usually spend longer than quasi-seamless switch over. This paper proposes an idea to provide supplementary content during handoff break by defining new signaling, and ways of content delivery and consumption.
