Abstract
Applying undiluted whole blood directly into rapid kits is almost impossible because of the blood cells. We devised a cartridge for rapid kits into which undiluted whole blood could be directly applied without dilution. Harvested plasma could make lateral flow along with membranes reaching the final pad. In addition, a cartridge for three strips diverging from one inlet was devised and fabricated with microfluidic simulations. Fabricated rapid kits showed reasonable detection performances using real whole blood. Since these cartridges are designed to maintain existing formats, they will be immediately applicable to existing rapid kits with minimal modification.
