Abstract
We have been developing a novel micro-capillary biosensor system that can measure salivary cortisol in a point-of-care (POC) environment with added feature of connection to a smartphone [1]. Measuring cortisol in saliva is advantageous since not only the cortisol is in free form but also the measurement can be processed in noninvasive manner [2]. Also the micron-scale capillary tube enables to measure cortisol with only 5 micro-liter of saliva, adding yet another merit as a POC instrument.
