Abstract
This paper analyzed the handover impact on E2E delay of video conference multimedia service in high-speed railway system. Stable end-to-end (E2E) delay is essential to stable video conference multimedia service. Frequent handover by short inter-cell site distance (ISD) in high-speed railway system makes it harder. Therefore, we investigated the performance association between average E2E delay of video conference multimedia service and handover A3 offset in train speed at 150 km/h, 250 km/h and 350 km/h. OPNET network simulator provided by Riverbed Technology, Inc. was used for a tool to simulate the behavior and performance of the system. The results showed us that handover A3 offset mainly affected average E2E delay of video conference multimedia service, so that we knew that it was possible to decrease the average E2E delay by controlling handover A3 offset. Moreover, the results informed that there were unstable and stable interval to average E2E delay regarding handover A3 offset values, thus we can take stable video conference multimedia service by controlling them.
