Abstract
In recent years, an ultra-dense network (UDN) has received considerable attention as a promising technique for improving the network capacity. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of UDN with non-coherent joint transmission (NC-JT) scheme through system-level simulation including indoor UDN scenario. Numerical results demonstrate that the NC-JT with multi-panel reception in UDN environment has better area traffic capacity and 5th percentile user spectral efficiency performances than those of 5G requirements. This indicates that the inter-cell interference in UDN is well managed by using NC-JT with multi-panel reception.
