Abstract
In geolocation-based networking systems such as wireless sensor networks, real-time multicast routing has paid more attention to on-time data delivery to all destinations rather than cost-efficiency due to its significance. However, the original purpose of real-time multicasting is to achieve transmission efficiency to a group of destinations. To deal with this, we propose a Localized Optimal Real-time Multicast routing (LORM) scheme tackling both demands on real-time and the transmission efficiency. LORM consists of two phases: 1) backbone line establishment with the restriction of the furthermost distance and 2) cost efficient branch arrangement by our heuristic expectation-maximization allocation for grouping of nearby destinations.
