초록
Traditional C-RAN (Centralized RAN) architecture is based on the functional split Option 8 (PHY-RF split) which uses CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) [6], but the increased data rates in 5G make this option impractical due to its high bandwidth requirement. To relax the bandwidth requirement and ensure interoperability between vendors, new open fronthaul interface specifications based on the split Option 7-2x are being developed by O-RAN (Open Radio Access Network) Alliance WG4. This paper proposes a design of a Management Plane for 5G open fronthaul interface based on O-RAN specifications [1][2] that are under the standardization process.
