Abstract
This study presents test results of a wireless backhaul technology, moving network(MN), in a highway environment. The MN was developed to enhance the Internet speed of passengers in buses. It used a wide bandwidth of 600 MHz at 22 GHz frequency to achieve a high data rate but suffers from a bad wireless channel condition. Specific features of the MN technology are summarized, and then highway test environment and test method are introduced in this paper. The Testbed includes a central office, terminal equipment, and five base stations along about a 3 km route. Test results showed that the maximum data rate was 2.7 Gbps and structural conditions of the road were important factors that influenced system performance.
