- Abstract
- Mission-critical applications, such as home security systems to notify outsiders of an intruder breaking into a home or a disaster such as a gas leak or fire, require a reliable Internet connection. If the Internet is interrupted, it is impossible to respond to a disaster situation. In this paper, to solve this problem, we write a service that monitors internet connection based on priority, and when the service detects internet outage, it automatically reroutes all outbound traffic through the next priority interface such as cellular network. When the primary internet connection becomes available, all traffic is automatically rerouted to the primary interface. Through this service, it is possible to provide an uninterrupted Internet connection even in a disaster situation.
