Abstract
This study presents the hardware structure, topology, and block device access performance of the ETRI Gen-Z memory pool system. This study implemented an extended memory pool hardware system using the Gen-Z protocol. A total of 4.5TB DDR4 memory pool was connected to the host server using 100Gbit Ethernet physical layer. Block IO throughput benchmark results showed that the write performance of the ETRI Gen-Z memory pool was four times better than the NVMe device, and the read performance was 1.3 times better.
