Abstract
The planetary-scale geospatial platform manages the data based on a unit of a tile with level of detail to handles large-capacity and high-definition data. Some cracks are occurred when tiles of different levels are adjacent to each other. We propose how to minimize cracks between adjacent 3D terrain tiles. The approach is to pre-create various types of 3D terrain models based on DEM and use them according to tile adjacency relationships. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that cracks were effectively removed or minimized from the geospatial platform implemented based on the universal game engine Unity3D.
