Abstract
This study presents an analysis for the vibration pattern of a booster pump. A booster pump for the closed-loop fluid circulation system of a commercial building is considered. A pump with moving parts, e.g., a motor and rotor, will suffer from vibration during the operation. Vibration with a large amplitude or high frequency can induce the structural failure of the pump system. Because each part of the pump can suffer from a different level of vibration, this study focuses on the vibration patterns of the top, middle, and bottom positions of the booster pump. Three vibration sensors are installed to the corresponding parts of the pump. The top and bottom positions present high levels of the vibration amplitude compare to the amplitude of the middle position.
