Abstract
A multilayer printed radiator for an active phased antenna array (APAA) of Ka-band satellite communications with switchable modes of operation for signal transmission and reception is considered. The design of the radiator is described and the results of calculations of the radiator model are presented. The radiator in the transmission mode (Tx) forms the field of the right-hand circular polarization (RHCP), and in the reception mode-the left-hand circular polarization (LHCP). The radiator operates in the frequency range of 27-27.5 GHz and has a scanning area in the form of a cone with a solid angle of 짹45 degrees. To reduce the level of cross-polarization, groups of four radiators with sequential rotation of 90 degrees are used. The results of calculations for such a group of radiators in the Floquet channel condition are presented.
