Abstract
A world-first 1 μm-pixelated 72K ultra-highresolution spatial light modulator on glass (SLMoG) for digital holographic display was developed. Not only very large area of 3.05-inch diagonal but also extremely narrow pixel pitch of 1 μm were accomplished at the same time in the SLMoG panel, and it allows observer can experience reconstructed holographic images within wide viewing angle of 30 degree without any additional optical elements. In spite of very narrow pixel pitch, the panel could serve 2π phase modulation. Based on large panel dimension, 30mm-sized holographic image could be fully observed.
