5G NR(new radio) 기지국의 구축이 세계적으로 늘어남에 따라 기지국의 인체노출량을 평가하기 위한 EMF(electromagnetic field) 측정 방법이 중요한 문제로 떠오르고 있다. 5G NR은 능동 안테나 시스템 기술의 사용으로 OTA(over the air) 측정을해야 한다. 더욱이 5G NR은 eMBB(enhanced mobile broadband), URLLC(ultra reliable low latency communications), 그리고massive MTC(machine type communications)에 이르기까지 다양한 서비스를 제공한다. 따라서 5G NR 기지국은 제공되는 서비스에 따라 트래픽 정보의 변화가 심할 뿐만 아니라, 핫스폿 지역에 많은 기지국이 설치되기 때문에, 기지국 별로 EMF를 신뢰성 있게 측정하는 방법이 필요하다. 5G NR 기지국의 EMF를 안정적으로 측정하기 위해서는 “always-on” 신호이면서 기지국의 트래픽에 영향을 받지 않는 신호를 선택하여 측정하여야 한다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 5G NR의 SS/PBCH (synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel) 신호를 토대로 EMF를 측정하는 디코더를 이용한 방법과 스펙트럼을 이용한측정 방법을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 평가 목적에 따라 EMF 노출량 측정방법을 구분하여 평가되어야 한다는 것을 제안한다. 또한, 기지국의 전자파 노출 적합성 평가는 측정의 신뢰도를 높일 뿐만 아니라, 기지국별로 정확하게 EMF를 측정할 수 있는SSS(secondary synchronization signal) 기반의 디코더를 이용한 방법으로 측정하는 것을 제안한다.
