Abstract
As the use of software in a vehicle increases, the security problems for in-vehicle data and communication are emerging like other computing environments. Because these problems are linked directly with the driver’s safety, it is especially important to prevent the malfunction of the malicious software or the modified software in a vehicle. This paper presents the method for applying the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) technology which is designed for a trusted environment in PC to the in-vehicle software. It can help to make a safe driving environment by guaranteeing the integrity of ECU software in a vehicle through the comparison of collected integrity information of ECU software and the pre-measured information.
