Abstract
In beam selection, unlike conventional cell-based networks, the beam of each access point in cell-free networks must be selected from a network-wide perspective. In this paper, we propose a beam selection algorithm for cell-free networks using sweeping beams. The proposed algorithm is suitable for the cell-free networks in that it is designed to maximize the received power at a user equipment by using iterative maximum weighted matching. Through simulations, we show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the other investigated algorithms in terms of the minimum sum of reference signal received power.
