Abstract
The lightweight process for image-based reconstructed high-dense 3D building models is essential for use in real-time graphics applications. Artists typically perform the process manually, but in recent times it is possible to semi-automate the lightweight process using a variety of simplification and retopology techniques. We proposed a method to control the degree to which appearance details can be maintained during the lightweight process. We compared the appearance details with the various controllable parameters on the process, differences in their mesh detail and texture mapping results.
