Abstract
The propagation characteristics of extremely high frequency signal will be strongly influenced by obstacles in the indoor communication channel. Because millimeter wave band has very short wavelength, propagation characteristics have prediction errors of reflection analysis from the rough surface. To improve these problems, we have studied KA method for surface scattering. In this paper, we set up the measurement system and measured the propagation characteristics of samples with periodic and random rough surfaces. We also compared theoretical calculations and measured data. A simple, but effective, analysis method for rough surfaces is proposed, which is in good agreement with propagation measurements at 60 GHz. These advanced analysis method can be directly applied to the estimation of multipath signal strength in ray-tracing algorithms for propagation prediction.
