The usage pattern of Internet is rapidly changing from host-centric communication model to content-centric one. IP which was originally designed for carrying point-to-point communication between two endpoints is a weak match to the paradigm change. Information-centric Networking is an innovative Internet architecture that has been proposed to overcome shortcomings of the Internet's current IP-based, end-to-end communication and naturally accommodate the emerging usage patterns of the Internet. Among others, Named Data Networking (NDN) is one of the most promising instances of Information-Centric Networking. While the advantages of the new Internet architecture, it is hard to expect that the new architecture will take the place of the well-defined IP-based Internet all at once, especially in the core network, as we already have learned from the effort to deploy IPv6. In this paper, we present an efficient network architecture for NDN communications among multiple NDN local networks connected to an IP core network.
