Abstract
To provide various services to highly heterogeneous and massive IoT devices in the era of 5G communication and beyond, a structural architecture is essential. Although individual consumer IoT solutions provide simple management features, they are still isolated by their own platforms. The Software-Defined Device (SDD) paradigm was proposed to resolve the problem by separating the hardware layer and software layer which enables flexible device customization and reconfiguration on a software level. We extended SDD to provide highly customizable synthetic devices in the SDD layer by fusing the sub-modules to create new logically functional devices. A case scenario that constructs a 3D depth camera with normal cameras shows how our methodology works.
