현재 인터넷 정보 전달 방식은 1과 0의 디지털 데이터를 인터넷망을 통해 전달한다. 차세대 인터넷으로 여겨지는 양자 인터넷은 1과 0이 중첩된 임의 양자 상태를 양자 인터넷망을 통해 전달하여 안전하게 초고속으로 정보를 전달하는 장점이 있다. 양자 인터넷이 현재의 인터넷을 대체하려면 기본적으로 원거리 통신이 가능해야 한다. 이를 위해서는 네트워크 노드마다 양자 중 계기를 두고, 노드와 노드 사이에 양자 정보를 전달할 수 있어야 한다. 더욱이 양자 인터넷은 전세계를 연결하는 대규모 통신망이므로 지역별로 다른 양자 인터넷 사업자의 관리를 받을 수 있고, 서로 다른 양자기술이 적용될 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 양자연동기술은 양자 인터넷으로 발전하기 위한 핵심기술이다. 본고에서는 양자암호 연동기술의 표준화 현황을 살펴보고 양자 인터넷으로 발전 가능성을 타진해본다.
