Abstract
We propose a method for characterizing attitude sensors in agricultural tasks. The proposed method can be applied to various types of attitude sensors, including the popular MEMS-based attitude sensors and traditional, fluid-type attitude sensors. The technical parameters for MEMS attitude sensors are reformulated to be suitable for expressing measurement performance in agricultural tasks. Two important parameters proposed are overshoot behavior and repeatability. We describe procedures to measure the parameters and mention how the proposed method can be extended further.
