Abstract
This letter presents our 159 GHz measurements collected in an urban microcellular (UMi) environment and provides synthesized beamwidth-related propagation characteristics. Our directional antenna measurements include line-of-sight (LoS) scenarios (distances up to 170 m) and non-LoS (NLoS) (distances up to 97 m). To validate the synthesized beamwidth characteristics, an omnidirectional antenna was also used. So far, to the best of our knowledge, two organizations (NYU and USC) have reported their measurement-based propagation characteristics for UMi, especially including NLoS, at frequencies above 100 GHz. We compare our data with the two organizations' data as well as the frequency-extrapolated 3GPP model.
