Abstract
Guaranteeing an end-to-end bounded latency and high reliability in packet transmission is one of the most important requirements of upcoming time-critical services. IEEE TSN specifies scheduling algorithms and seamless redundancy to realize the deterministic networking in a LAN and IETF DetNet expands this range to IP/MPLS domain. In this paper, we introduce the related standards and implementation of the deterministic packet forwarding engine with performance evaluation using experimental test. From the results, we verify that the engine supports 100Gb/s throughput and guarantees bounded latency with less than 6.25us per node and lossless packet forwarding on network failures.
