Abstract
This paper presents a new and simple automatic rigging method for articulated movement of 3D human models. Realistic motion tracking and animation of human models requires adaptive estimations of the joint structure having anthropometric features. For this purpose, we propose a model-based approach representing kinematic joint structure and using cut-plane joint extraction on 3D reconstructed volume models of the individual person.
