Abstract
The sensory organs (SOs) are the only way that the brain acquires information required to perceive its surroundings. 80% of the information transmitted to the brain comes from the visual sensory organ (VSO) and an impaired SO cannot be restored permanently. Therefore, daily life of visually impaired people (VIP) is affected severely by an impaired VSO. Eye transplants or artificial eye implants are the ways to restore an impaired VSO, but they have technical limitations and risks with surgery. In this paper, we propose an IVCAF that restores an impaired VSO without implants. The IVCAF newly forms a detour pathway to the brain through the auditory sensory organ (ASO) instead of an impaired VSO. The IVCAF transforms 2-dimensional scene into 1-dimensional sound and transmit it to the brain through ears. Through learning, a VIP can perceive the objects by 90.2% of perception rate through the IVCAF.
