Abstract
This paper describes the development of an electronically beam scanning array antenna having a wide beam steering range in 5.8GHz ISM band. The antenna is comprised of one feed active element and two passive elements with variable reactive loads. The wide beam steering range from -38째 to 37째 is achieved by adjusting variable reactive load of passive elements. And the fine beam scanning performance was proved with the maximum gain within 7.48dBi ~ 8.67dBi when the scanning at intervals of 5째 is performed. The bandwidth of return loss lower than -10 dB is invariably maintained through measurement in ISM band at any beam steering angle. © 2010 EuMA.
