Abstract
A practical substitution measurement method in a coupled transmission line (CTL) cell was proposed with a half-wave dipole antenna and optical link module for ERP (Effective Radiated Power)/EIRP (Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power) measurement of a mobile phone. A variable half-wave dipole antenna and an optical TRx module were designed and fabricated using one balun and two thin antenna elements and a DFB-LD, a PIN-PD respectively. The difference of measurements between proposed CTL cell and fully anechoic chamber (FAC) is below ±0.25 dB. Compared to measurement method using FAC room, the required room space is dramatically reduced by one several hundredth times.
