- Abstract
- This paper presents the basic concept and the field test results of the equalization distributed translator (EDTxR). EDTxRs transmit output signal on the same frequency among translators to redistribute a transmitter signal but do not use the frequency reference from the GPS satellite to synchronize each translator's output frequency. Moreover, EDTxR does not need any additional device or equipment to make the translators' output symbols to be identical and any change of already deployed transmitters. The field test which was conducted at the downtown Ottawa, Canada with 2 synchronized EDTxRs resulted in a better performance compared with a single translator.
