차세대 통신에서 저궤도 위성을 통한 다양한 어플리케이션이 고려되고 있으며, 그 중 저궤도 위성 네트워크의 넓은 커버리지를 활용한 사물인터넷 서비스에 대한 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 저궤도 위성 네트워크의 빠른 이동성으로 인한 도플러 효과를 보상하거나, 사물 인터넷을 위한 저전력 통신을 지원하기 위하여 LoRa (Long Range)는 유용한 기법으로 고려되고 있다. 본 논문은 저궤도 위성 네트워크에 LoRa기법을 적용하였을 때, 지상에 있는 사용자 관점에서 바라보는 네트워크에 대한 가시성과, 연결성을 분석한다. LoRa 기반 통신의 중요한 물리계층 파라메터인 확산계수는 사용자와의 거리를 기반으로 하여 결정되며, 이러한 가정하에서 사용자가 경험하는 네트워크 환경에 대한 분석을 확률 기하학 기법을 활용하여 제시한다. 제공한 결과를 통해 네트워크의 파라메터와 성능간의 상호 관련성에 대한 직관을 제공한다. 마지막으로, 시뮬레이션 결과를 통하여 본 논문의 주요 이론적 결과가 시뮬레이션 결과와 일치함을 보여준다.
