Abstract
Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) have emerged as a cost-effective solution to enhance wireless communication systems. This paper explores the potential of moving RISs in future 6G communications. After providing an overview of ongoing standardization efforts related to RIS, we present the system description of the proposed moving RIS-aided communication network and introduce a novel communication scheme tailored for millimeter-wave (mmWave) high-speed train (HST) communications. Through simulations, we demonstrate the significant advantages of incorporating moving RISs into HST communication networks. In conclusion, we summarize the key findings and suggest future research directions to optimize moving RIS systems, shedding light on the promising frontier of moving RIS and its potential to revolutionize future wireless communications.
