Abstract
Hybrid integrated photonic circuit technology realizing high bandwidth coherent receivers is presented. Integrated coherent receivers based on chip-to-chip coupling between high speed InP-based photodiode array chips and a silica-based planar lightwave chip have been demonstrated at a data rate per wavelength of 800 Gb/s with polarization division multiplexed quadrature amplitude modulation.
