Abstract
RIS is being actively researched as a solution to improve service coverage at low cost in mobile communication systems. In this paper, we summarize previous research on path loss models for channels including RIS in communication paths. Path loss models are divided into two models depending on the distance from RIS, and the differences are explained. Additionally, the path loss simulation results according to the RIS structure and the distance between the RIS and the receiver are shown at a millimeter frequency of 29 GHz. In the simulation, the structure of the RIS module being manufactured is considered, and the results are compared with the path loss of the LoS channel. Simulation results can provide guidelines for the performance of RIS-aided mobile communication systems.
