Abstract
Push to Talk, or Walkie-Talkie A, is a peer-to-peer half-duplex communication technology generally implemented using low power transceivers over a limited range. It has been successfully offered over wireless WAN technologies over the past decade. One proof for its development is the PoC (Push to Talk over Cellular) of OMA that plays an important role in the mobile industry. In this paper, we propose a novel protocol called Push to Talk over Mobile Wimax (PoW) that uses a group communication service in the 802.16e network. Also, we implemented NS2 (Network Simulation 2) programming in order for simulating the viability of the protocol in Mobile Wimax network. The results of the simulation show the stability of the network and the quality of this kind of service in the Mobile Wimax network environment.
