Abstract
This study explores the delay spread characteristics influenced by antenna beamwidth and device size in the intra-device communication environment spanning the frequency bands from 275 GHz to 295 GHz. Utilizing a vector network analyzer and a frequency extender, we extract the statistical properties of signals within the terahertz frequency band in such an intra-device communication setup. Additionally, antennas with varying beamwidths are deployed to facilitate measurement. Leveraging data obtained from measurements conducted with antennas of different beamwidths and device sizes, we derive the distribution of delay spread. The data from the measurement environment is used to derive a model of the R.M.S. delay spread as a function of the R.M.S. delay spread parameter and the relative received power.
