Abstract
Successful operation of defense mobile services sharing 5G commercial base stations requires defense subscriber management, traffic encryption, and dedicated authentication, along with network quality monitoring and network optimization to meet defense communications requirements. In this paper, we present software tools for network probing and traffic analysis to collect packets from the core network of a 5G testbed and monitor network performance. It consists of two tools: a tool to visualize performance statistics of user TCP/IP packets extracted from 5G GTP-U traffic, and a tool to visualize network performance measured by probes between two specific nodes. Using the developed tool, we show the characteristics and statistics of packets actually collected from a 5G testbed in South Korea.
