Abstract
This paper discusses the installation and verification of ATSC 3.0 & 1.0 integrated Master Antenna Television (MATV) system in a real field environment. With the scheduled shutdown of ATSC 1.0-based High Definition (HD) broadcasting in 2027, households without ATSC 3.0 TVs will face challenges. To address this problem, we developed a new MATV system that receives ATSC 3.0-based Ultra High Definition (UHD) signals and converts them into both ATSC 3.0 UHD and ATSC 1.0 HD signals, ensuring continued high-quality broadcast services. This paper verified the performance of the new MATV system in a Single Frequency Network (SFN) environment, characterized by multiple synchronized transmitters operating on the same frequency. Field tests demonstrated the system's robustness, reliability, and ability to maintain high signal quality and service continuity in challenging SFN conditions.
