Abstract
As 5G core network functions become more fragmented, control signaling traffic and the complexity required to synchronize network functions increase, resulting in traffic delays and throughput bottlenecks. These signaling bottlenecks are more severe in space communications, such as 5G NTN(Non Terrestrial Networks), which have asymmetric traffic characteristics unlike terrestrial networks. In this paper, we investigate the problem of complex synchronous control schemes among network functions in 5G call flows and propose an asynchronous control structure to complement them. Furthermore, We also derive the system requirements for introducing asynchronous control schemes in mobile networks and present a feasible solution.
