Abstract
Open Radio Access Network (Open RAN) is an enabling technology to provide openness and intelligence to 5G network systems. This paper describes the development of Open RAN visualization framework which efficiently supports the implementation and testing of Open RAN applications by providing graphical representation of performance data. To achieve the goal, we design and implement a visualization framework that collects network node measurement data and delivers the data to the Open RAN applications. Additionally, the framework has the capability to provide R1 services related to Open RAN application registration and base station node control. Visualization functions are implemented as front-end and back-end components which allow graphical user interface to software developer. We perform a conformance test and compare the visualization framework with other Open RAN visualization environments to verify efficiency and usability. The proposed framework can be extended to the development of Open RAN applications for developing various Open RAN use cases.
