Abstract
In this paper, we analyzed the energy efficiency associated with Cell DRX and Cell DTX in the context of the Energy Saving use cases proposed by the O-RAN Alliance. Based on the Power, Energy, and Environment measurements defined by 3GPP, we selected the message transmission parameters and established the E2 transmission intervals and policy choices necessary for achieving energy efficiency through communication with the Near-RT RIC. The simulation results showed to confirm the energy-saving efficiency proposed by the O-RAN Alliance with regards cell DRX and cell DTX.
