Abstract
This paper presents a testbed and an assessment method based on multi-point measurements for unshielded facilities. The testbed consists of planar electromagnetic absorbers that demonstrate shielding effectiveness comparable to reinforced concrete. The modified testbed, equipped with apertures, replicates a reinforced concrete building with tempered glass windows. Attenuation was evaluated for both facilities, revealing a mean attenuation difference of 0.39 dB in the frequency range of 1 to 6 GHz. The addition of metal mesh screens to the apertures and tempered glass windows increased attenuation by 21.87 dB and 25.57 dB, respectively. The testbed and assessment methods were successfully evaluated, introducing cost-effective protection for unshielded facilities.
