Abstract
In this letter, an in-band full-duplex integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) system based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation is proposed. We introduce a chirp-scrambled OFDM that enables simultaneous super-resolution distance estimation and communication. A monostatic ISAC node employs a super-resolution distance estimate scheme that utilizes the chirp property of the echo signal, achieving cm-level estimation in practical band-limited communication settings. A communication node demodulates information symbols from the receive chirp-scrambled OFDM signal with no loss of communication performance compared to the conventional OFDM without chirp scrambling.
