Abstract
This paper proposes a novel approach to designing Primary Synchronization Signal (PSS) sequences for next-generation mobile communication systems. The proposed scheme formulates the PSS sequence design as an optimization problem, minimizing a cost function that captures the desired properties and requirements of PSS sequences. A gradient descent algorithm is employed to iteratively update the sequences, leading to optimized PSS sequences with superior synchronization performance compared to 5G New Radio (NR) PSS sequences. The proposed method offers a versatile and adaptable approach to designing synchronization sequences tailored to specific system requirements, making it a promising solution for 6G and future wireless networks.
