Abstract
This paper presents a method for the control plane (C/P) to dynamically gather and manage network topology information from the User Plane (U/P) in mobile networks, crucial for the evolution from 5G to 6G. The proposed approach leverages the Packet Forwarding Control Protocol (PFCP) on the N4 interface to facilitate real-time collection of topology data, thereby enabling more efficient control and management of user packet forwarding. This dynamic interaction between the C/P and U/P functions addresses the limitations of static configurations and enhances the network ability to meet diverse Quality of Service (QoS) requirements.
