Abstract
This paper introduces a novel reverse mode control strategy of a phase-shift full-bridge (PSFB) converter for bidirectional auxiliary power modules (APM) in electric vehicles. The proposed method utilizes a new leading leg phase delay (LLPD) modulation to reduce excessive voltage overshoots on the current-fed side switches. Small-signal modeling and relative gain array (RGA) analysis confirm the applicability of the decentralized control structure for the proposed method. Moreover, the control method to extend the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) range for lagging leg switches is presented. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is experimentally verified through a 500 W PSFB converter prototype.
