Abstract
As demand for wireless communications increases, it is becoming more important to efficiently use frequency band. To support simultaneous multiple transmissions, a frequency band is divided into multiple channels or subbands. In this paper, we study band division methods for visible light communication (VLC) with a goal of maximizing the communication efficiency of spectrum and fairness among channels. Studying the factors that should be considered when constructing channels in a visible light band, we propose a new band division method using photo detection responsivity that yields the optimal and fair rate performance for the communication network. Evaluation analysis shows the superiority of our scheme over currently existing band division method.
