Abstract
Field measurements were carried out to scrutinize an urban effect against electromagnetic induction by power line onto telecommunication line. 35 selected places' data gathered from each rural and city areas are comparatively analyzed to know the quantitative factor with shielding effect of urban area over countrysides. The shielding coefficient has been resulted into 0.6 of cities over rurals which means that the induced voltages are averagely 40% lower in the urban area than rural area. ©2010 IEEE.
