Abstract
This study analyzes recent trends in the development of quantum computing hardware technologies, focusing on case studies of leading companies across six platform types. It also examines key discussions related to competition assessment among platforms. The case analysis of leading companies indicates that they are focusing on the development of quantum error correction technologies and making substantial efforts to mitigate the inherent weaknesses of each platform while improving performance. Based on a review of major perspectives on the current state of inter-platform competition and future prospects, as well as an analysis of policy initiatives in major countries, this study recommends that the competent authority in Korea undertake research on the development of indicators to establish a system to assess competition among quantum computing hardware platforms regularly, taking the European Union҆s approach as a reference.
