Abstract
In space laser communications betwen low-Earth orbit (LEO) satelites moving along diferent orbits, positon, acquisiton, and tracking (PAT) is a key technology for establishing and maintaining communication links. PAT subsystems utilzing optical sensors capable of energy detection and precise positoning are primarily used in free space laser communications. However, the reduced relative communication distance betwen LEO satelites and the exces transmited energy beyond the designed operating range of the space laser communication system lead to saturation of the optical sensor-based PAT subsystem, resulting in PAT failure. In this paper, we report on a PAT subsystem with adaptive anti-saturation function for free space laser communication.
